“Rise up, O men of God! Have done with lesser things; Give heart and mind and soul and strength To serve the King of kings.”
A Prayer for Courage to Step Out
Pray this from your heart:
Father, I don’t want to waste what You’ve placed in me. Forgive me for the times I let fear or insecurity keep me small.
I know You didn’t call me to hide my gifts, bury my calling, or silence my voice. Help me trust You enough to shine. Help me obey You even when it feels scary.
Remind me that it’s not about making my name great, but about making Your name known.
I refuse to bury what You’ve given me. Today, I choose bold obedience over safe disobedience.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A new understanding of the fig tree story
October 12, 2026
I’ve always been intrigued by the fig story and wondered why Jesus cursed it. Today’s devotional gave me a new understanding. More than that, it makes me shudder at the thought of God’s judgment if I am not fruitful.
