Six hours.
That’s how long Jesus remained nailed to the wooden cross (Mark 15:25, 33). Bleeding, gasping, and bearing it all. It was agony in real time.
As if the physical pain was not enough, the soldiers gambled for His garment, the sky darkened for three hours, and the crowd mocked Him.
“He saved others,” they sneered, “but He can’t save Himself!” (Matthew 27:42)
And the worst part? God turned His face.
But in all of these, Jesus didn’t leave.
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13)
We measure time in hours. He measured it in suffering. Minute by minute, the Lamb of God absorbed wrath that wasn’t His. He chose to feel it all. So you wouldn’t have to.
You may never fully grasp the weight of those six hours on the cross of Calvary. But you can live every hour of your day as someone who’s been rescued. Let it humble you. Let it break your pride. Let it end the argument that says, “God doesn’t care”, because He stayed for YOU. He stayed for the moment you’d hear this and realize your life is worth more than casual faith and distracted devotion.
